LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) is a joint NASA/ESA mission to detect and observe gravitational waves in space. LISA is comprised of three identical sciencecraft separated by 5 million kilometers forming an equilateral triangle. Each sciencecraft encompasses two freely floating proof masses. Each leg of the triangle acts as a single arm of an interferometer that is used to measure any change in the distance between the distant proof masses.
The Sixth International LISA Symposium was held June 19-23, 2006 at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Topics included:
